Teenage girl Rita Gabriola who is known in her internet name ‘Badjao’ girl got the attention of presumptive president Duterte’s son who praised her for her natural beauty.
Gabriola’s photos went viral after photographer Topher Quintos uploaded her model-like photos online. The ‘Badjao Girl’ was begging around for her siblings during the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban Quezon when Quintos took her photo.
In an interview with GMA News, Gabriola said that she did not expect her popularity. She confessed that she does not know how to use the internet and her photo was just shown to her in a cellphone.
She thanks the people who made her photos viral and hopes that her fame will somehow lead her to fulfill her dreams of becoming a teacher.
